Licensed Massage Therapist ~ Certified Pediatric Massage Therapist ~ Certified Autism Touch Therapist
Hi! Thank you so much for visiting my site to learn more about me and my goals at Lighthouse Wellness. I’m excited to share my journey with you.
After spending 15+ years in the corporate world I decided to become a massage therapist so that I could “make peace’ with my body and to be of service to others. In 2011, I graduated from Northwest Academy of the Healing Arts in Seattle, WA where I am now a school director and instructor.
The idea behind Lighthouse Wellness began when I became a mother. I have three children, an adult transgender son and preteen twins on the autism spectrum with sensory processing concerns. Our lives have been filled with many emotions as we essentially all speak a different language. They inspired me to learn about pediatric and autism touch therapy and it is interwoven into our daily lives.
With my highly sensitive family came numerous behavioral and emotional challenges. I have always sought to make their lives as enjoyable as possible and to teach them that all bodies and all people deserve caring , compassionate, nurturing, and healthy touch. Touch therapy has helped to increase their self-esteem, create healthy physical boundaries, improve their sleep, stabilize emotion control, and reduce their anxiety.
My goal in life is simple. To help other families in the harbor give more love to their children and to themselves. The result will be be greater happiness, greater success outcomes, and stronger communities.
